beautilation:

The jewish barber’s speech from The Great Dictator (1940). A poor jewish barber looks just like the bad dictator and is mistaken for him. He uses his chance to deliver a speech to the people disguised as the Dictator. A speech of love and kindness.
Chaplin managed to create one of the most beautiful and epic speeches of all time in the end scene of The Great Dictator. This was also Chaplin’s first true talking picture and his best grossing film ever.

While in a NYU restroom...

  • NYU Girl 1: What movie are we seeing tonight?
  • NYU Girl 2: Something from the Disney Channel right?
  • NYU Girl 3: No, we're seeing some Chaplin movie.
  • NYU Girl 1: Huh, who's that?
  • NYU Girl 3: He's some kind of director.
  • NYU Girl 1: Never heard of him.
  • NYU Girl 2: It's pretty old - you'd prob. recognize him if you saw him.
  • NYU Girl 1: Too bad Disney doesn't make any Disney Channel original movies anymore like "Life-Size"!
  • FML. I almost HULKED OUT on these girls. You know, like Hulk. He's some kind of American hero. You'd recognize him if you saw him.
